Privacy Policy
Effective November 7, 2026 · MangoRSS 1.1.0
The short version
- MangoRSS has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- There is no MangoRSS server. We never receive your feeds, your reading history or your highlights.
- Your data stays on your devices and, if you turn on sync, in your own iCloud.
Who we are
MangoRSS is an RSS reader for Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, made by [Developer name]. In this policy, “we” means the developer of MangoRSS and “you” means the person using the app or this website.
What we collect
Nothing. MangoRSS does not collect, store or share personal data, usage data, diagnostics or identifiers with us or with anyone else. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and it does not track you across apps or websites.
Where your data lives
Everything you create in MangoRSS, including your subscriptions, folders, tags, smart filters, highlights, notes, and what you’ve read, starred or saved for Later, is stored on your device.
iCloud sync
If you use iCloud sync, this data is stored in your private iCloud database, under your Apple Account. We cannot see or access it. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
FreshRSS and Miniflux
If you choose to sync with a FreshRSS or Miniflux account instead of iCloud, MangoRSS talks directly to the server you chose, and that server’s operator and privacy policy apply. Your user name and password are kept in your device’s Keychain.
Backups
A backup file stays wherever you save it.
Connections the app makes
To do its job, MangoRSS connects directly from your device to:
- The sites you follow, to check for new articles, load images, fetch full articles for Reader View, and play podcasts or videos. Like any web browser, those sites can see your IP address and the request. If a feed needs a password, it is kept in your Keychain and sent only to that site.
- YouTube, only when you play a YouTube video, using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube’s own privacy policy applies to that video.
- Services you send articles to, such as Things or Readwise, only when you choose to send something.
None of these connections go through us.
On-device features
Listen, Translate and Summarize run on your device using Apple’s built-in technologies, including Apple Intelligence on the Mac. Article text is not sent to us. The first time you translate into a new language, your device may download that language from Apple.
AI assistants on the Mac
MangoRSS on the Mac includes a command line tool and an MCP server that let AI assistants, such as Claude Code or Claude Desktop, read and organize your feeds. They only work when you set them up yourself. When you use them, the assistant you chose can read the articles and data it asks for, and that assistant’s provider and its privacy policy then apply to what it receives.
Purchases
The MangoRSS Pro purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details or your identity. The app checks your purchase with Apple on your device.
Crash reports
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports with us. You can turn this off at any time in your device’s Privacy settings.
This website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts, fonts or embeds. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and operation.
Children
MangoRSS does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Your choices
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete. You can delete your MangoRSS data at any time by deleting the app and, if you use iCloud sync, removing MangoRSS’s data in your iCloud settings.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how your data is handled, we will also say so in the app’s release notes.
